Homeowners Worried About Foreclosure May Be Eligible for One or More Programs. As HR Professionals you can assist your associates by referring them to these programs.

The first is South Carolina Legal Services(SCLS). SCLS is a statewide law firm that provides civil legal services to protect the rights and represent the legal interest of low-income South Carolinians. During this session we will discuss where members and their employees may find hundreds of legal resources.

Next, we will explain the benefits of the South Carolina Homeownership and Employment Lending Program (SC HELP). This program helps people who are unemployed, underemployed, self employed with a reduction in income and those who face a hardship beyond their control prevent foreclosure by paying the monthly mortgage payment or by paying the mortgage arrears up to a certain amount. SC HELP also offers financial assistance for those who are unable to keep the home transition from homeownership to rental.
